Gavin DeGraw- Sweeter- A solid set of songs from a guy who really caught my eye with this album. Some of his blues chords resonate with me, along with the percussion. The last track is nothing but piano and a good vocal, check out “Spell it Out”.
Jon McLaughlin- Forever If Ever- Why this had to be made without a record label is beyond me. With that in mind, he was able to record with more freedom. Jon inspires me as a songwriter and performer. I like what he did with the instrumentals on this album, and he still can make his money on beautiful piano ballads!
James Morrison- The Awakening- One of my favorite artists from the UK, he continues to impress with passionate, soulful vocals and cool grooves. His solo work is definitely worth looking at, especially if you only know him from his collaboration with Jason Mraz on “Details in the Fabric”.
